The items were donated by both ECL and U&C in Waterbeach and will contribute to supporting local families in need. As we all know, many people across the country are suffering from food poverty, which is only likely to get worse as the cost of living crisis worsens, which is one of the key reasons we have chosen to support this cause.
The donation included everyday items including tinned meats and vegetables as well as rarely gifted items including men’s toiletries, long life milk and nappies. Both organisations will continue to make donations over the coming years in order to support the local community and are also looking to work together to improve the food bank’s storage and distribution facilities.
Bruce Callander, Communities, Communications and Partnerships Lead for Waterbeach said.
“The work that the local food bank undertake in Waterbeach and Cambridgeshire as a whole makes a colossal difference to a number of local families and individuals and represents a cause that we’re more than happy to support. We’re incredibly grateful to ECL for providing so much food and other materials and we hope this helps to support local people in what are challenging times.”
Sean Hoare, Managing Director at ECL, added.
“We were only too pleased to help Urban&Civic make this donation to help support local families and individuals around the Waterbeach and Cambridge area.”
