Waterbeach has everything you need on your doorstep and more facilities will grow and roll-out with the new community.

New facilities coming in phase 1

Waterbeach is a place that promotes health and wellbeing, with green spaces and sustainable facilities at its core. A range of play areas are just a short walk away, while running and walking loops enable you to explore at your own pace.

With a lively café culture coming forward around the lake, and civic squares hosting a range of shops, galleries and event space, residents will be able to revel in the rich and diverse cultural calendars on offer.

Spaces and places to enjoy

Waterbeach residents can join in groups and clubs in spaces old and new. From the refurbished Sports Hall to the recently completed assault course, The Playground.

Tennis court

Waterbeach Tennis Court

Enjoy a game of tennis. Our tennis courts are available for £5 per hour

Squash courts

Waterbeach squash courts

Enjoy a game of squash with friends or family. There are two squash courts available for booking at just £5 per hour per court.

Studio

Newly refurbished, with kitchen and toilet facilities and improved access, the Studio provides flexible space for 50 people theatre style or 30 boardroom. Available at £13 per hour.

Sports hall

Newly refurbished with improved kitchen, toilet and changing facilities, the Hall is set out with 4 badminton courts, 1 basketball court and 1 indoor football pitch. The Hall hosts a range of local groups and clubs you can join, or hire the Hall yourself for £15 per hour.

Community building

With main room, connected middle room with space for activities or displays, and well equipped kitchen area, this space can accommodate 30 people theatre style or 20 people boardroom style. Available at £10 per hour.

Museum

Waterbeach Military Heritage Museum is open the first Sunday and Wednesday of the month from March to October, and the third Sunday of each month to coincide with the Community Market. Find out more on the Waterbeach Military Museum website.

Community market

Waterbeach’s thriving community market is in the Community Room on the third Sunday of each month, with artisan stalls showcasing local produce, arts, crafts and gifts.

The original Army assault course has been refurbished and extended to form The Playground’s 1km assault course for individuals, group activities and events. Annual membership or ‘pay and play’ options available.

For the first three weekends in July, Waterbeach hosts Open Studios for local artists to showcase their work and encourage people to embrace their creative talents: from paintings and sculpture, to fashion and sound installations alongside the popular pop-up cafe. More at Facebook

    All hire charges go back into the ongoing maintenance of the buildings, and the facilities are run as a not-for-profit venture for community use.
